For Those Of You Planning To Start Exercising – Begin With A Stroll

So, you’ve determined it’s a good time you begin losing some weight, and that exercising frequently would be a good way to begin. So perhaps you’re new to doing exercise or you haven’t exercised in a long while. Sometimes, it can seem a bit too much and even a little bit dreadful… You’re lucky because it’s not that confusing or tough to do – just begin walking. You definitely should add walking into your exercise plan if you haven’t added it already.

You’ll be surprised how simple it is to squeeze walking into your workout plan. This is easy if you have a dog – simply take it for a minimum of 10 minute plus walk every day. 10 minutes may not feel like that long, but in a month, or even a week, it adds up quickly. If you walk your dog twice per day then that number doubles. Or how about walking to work, or at least a portion of the way? Surely, irrespective of how far you live from your place of work, you can work something out to get some exercise on the way there. If you’re fortunate enough to get only a thirty-minute or so walk to your office, that’ll be an extra hour of walking per day. If you use public transportation to get to work, you can try to walk to the next bus stop so that you do a bit more walking in the day. Adding more walking into your day-to-day routine is a cinch.

If you wish to improve your body’s overall health, start walking. As it’s an aerobic exercise, you’ll burn off calories, which means you’ll lose weight and it’s also good for your heart. There is no need for you to be anxious about overworking your joints or muscles like when running, since you can walk as slowly as you must. My brother is really slim (but he eats a lot of junk food) and I asked him how he remains lean. He tells me doesn’t know, but he did tell me that he walks a lot daily. It all made sense when he told me that. Since, for most of us, nothing is more painless than walking, we don’t have a good excuse not to.

You’re more likely to stick with your walking routine if you simply make it part of your daily routine. Then, with a proper, nourishing diet, you’ll also be on your way to losing weight as if by magic. As you get used to walking, you’ll note that you’re decidedly feeling healthier and, because it’s not that hard on you, your motivation will be enhanced also. As you walk more and see changes, you’ll want to do more or increase the intensity of your walks. This is terrific; whenever you’re ready. Once you get to the point where you’re walking at a very good pace and feel ready, you might even try jogging. After that, you can do anything you want.

You won’t be able to find a really good excuse to not walk a short distance each day. No matter how full your day is, you can surely find 10 minutes here and there for a short walk. Another possibility is to join a gym and use their treadmill’s for a half hour or so each day.
